ABSTRACT
Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province, is an area that still lacks specialized health facilities for mothers and children. This condition has resulted in suboptimal maternal and neonatal health services, as well as a high number of referrals to other areas. In addition, existing hospitals are generally unable to provide a sense of comfort and calm for patients, especially pregnant women and children who need a healing environment that is supportive both physically and psychologically. The design of the Mother and Child Hospital (RSIA) in Kuantan Singingi Regency uses the healing environment approach as the main concept to create a space that is not only medically functional, but also emotionally calming and restorative. This approach is applied through aspects of spatial layout, natural lighting, cross ventilation, the use of natural materials, soft colors, and the integration of natural elements such as gardens and water. The main objective of this design is to provide a healing environment that is friendly to mothers and children, improve the quality of health services, and provide a comfortable and calming experience for patients, families, and medical staff.
