The use of interactive digital media is considered effective in increasing students' learning motivation, especially when dealing with abstract economic concepts. The urgency of this research is based on: (1) the low learning motivation of students in economics subjects, (2) the need for interactive and innovative learning media, and (3) support for the digital transformation of education. The purpose of this study is to produce an economics e-module based on Articulate Storyline 3 that can enhance students’ learning motivation by using the ADDIE model.
The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with a descriptive approach. The population of the study consists of students from SMA Negeri 5 Pekanbaru, with the research sample being students from class X.9 and X.10, totaling 83 students.
The research results indicate that the development process was successfully carried out. The validation tests showed excellent results: 96.35% for media, 95% for content, and 96.88% for the overall module. These findings demonstrate that the module is highly suitable for use in the learning process. In terms of student motivation, the trial yielded significant results. The Sig. (2-tailed) value was 0.000 (overall) and 0.001 for class X.10, both of which are below 0.05, confirming the module’s effectiveness in enhancing motivation. Teacher observations over five sessions also revealed a notable increase in student motivation, with class X.9 reaching 85.53% and class X.10 reaching 86.87%, both categorized as very high. Student responses were equally positive, with practicality scores of 94.82% (X.9) and 93.63% (X.10).
In addition, observations of the e-module usage indicated strong effectiveness and practicality, with scores of 91.54% (X.9) and 91.94% (X.10). In conclusion, the economics e-module developed using Articulate Storyline 3 is effective and practical for enhancing students’ learning motivation.
