analisis sentimen dan jaringan komunikasi terhadap ridwan kamil pada #pilkadajakarta2024 di media sosial x (twitter)
Social media platform X (Twitter) has become a strategic platform for shaping public opinion ahead of the 2024 Jakarta Regional Head Election (Pilkada). Ridwan Kamil (RK) gubernatorial candidacy has generated a strong dynamic in digital discourse, encompassing issues of cultural rejection, debates about regional identity, his past digital footprint, and symbolic political practices that have sparked pros and cons in the online public sphere. This phenomenon demonstrates that social media functions not only as a means of communication but also as an arena for political contestation and the dynamic formation of public perception.
This study aims to analyze public sentiment toward Ridwan Kamil and map the structure and patterns of communication networks formed on social media platform X. The research method uses the Naïve Bayes Classifier (NBC) approach for sentiment analysis and Social Network Analysis (SNA) with graph theory for communication network analysis. The results show that of the approximately 2,000 tweets collected during the October–November 2024 period, 45.6% reflected positive sentiment, 31.8% were neutral, and 22.6% were negative. The communication network pattern shows a fragmented structure divided into two main clusters: those for and against the RK, with a circle pattern and a star pattern (Star Ego Network). The @ridwankamil account occupies a central position structurally, but is not the most active in digital interactions. Accounts such as @BungkusTukang, @NalarPolitik_, and @irenejuliency serve as dominant nodes in the dissemination of political opinion and information.
This finding reinforces the concept of the Digital Movement of Opinion (DMO), which asserts that public opinion on social media is not entirely formed spontaneously but rather mobilized by central actors who play a role in directing the flow of digital conversations. Thus, social media X plays a dual role as a space for public expression and a strategic arena for data-driven political mobilization. This research is expected to contribute to the development of digital political communication studies in Indonesia and serve as an academic reference in understanding the dynamics of public opinion and communication strategies in modern electoral contests.
