partisipasi remaja dalam kegiatan sosial dan keagamaan di masjid nurul hasanah pekanbaru
Youth participation in mosque activities is a crucial aspect of sustaining
the mosque’s social and religious functions. However, evidence shows that youth
involvement is higher in seasonal activities, while regular programs are relatively
less attended. This study aims to analyze the influence of internal and external
factors on youth participation, incorporating social capital as an additional
analytical dimension. This research employed a quantitative approach with a
survey method. The respondents were 40 youths from Nurul Hasanah Mosque in
Pekanbaru, consisting of 20 males and 20 females. Data were collected through
questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests,
multiple linear regression, and correlation analysis. The findings reveal that
internal factors (motivation, religious understanding, interest, and economic
condition) have a positive and significant effect on youth participation and serve
as the dominant factor. External factors (mosque management support, social
environment, program variation, and social media) also positively influence
participation, although to a lesser degree. In conclusion, youth participation in
mosques is shaped by a combination of internal factors, external factors, and
social capital, with internal factors as the main determinant. The implication of
this study highlights the need for mosque administrators to design more creative
and routine programs that meet the needs of youth, while reinforcing social
networks to enhance their sense of belonging.
