Gambaran Penggunaan Obat Tradisional Pada Pasien Diabetes Melitus Di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Tualang Kabupaten Siak
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease with a high prevalence in the working area of Puskesmas Tualang. Traditional medicine is often considered safe and associated with minimal side effects. This quantitative descriptive study aims to identify the patterns of traditional medicine use among 71 respondents with diabetes mellitus. Data were collected using a questionnaire covering the types of plants used, the parts utilized, methods of preparation, and sources of information. The findings indicate that the use of traditional medicine among diabetes patients in the working area of Puskesmas Tualang is predominantly centered on boiled daun salam (Indonesian bay leaves), with most knowledge passed down culturally within families.
