Analisis Spasial Kondisi Kekritisan Daerah Resapan Air Berbasis Sistem Informasi Geografis (Studi Kasus: Kabupaten Pelalawan)
ABSTRACT
Pelalawan Regency is one of the largest regencies in Riau Province, with an area of 1.340.872 Ha. Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in 2024, Pelalawan Regency has a population of 434,590 with a population growth rate of 4.78% from 2020 to 2024. As the population continues to grow, it will lead to increased human activities to meet needs such as land use conversion, which can affect the criticality of water catchment areas. The criticality of water catchment areas is one of the causes of the recent floods in Pelalawan Regency. The purpose of this study is to analyze the critical condition of water catchment areas in Pelalawan Regency based on a Geographic Information System (GIS) in accordance with Regulation of the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Number 10/PRT/M/2015. This study uses scoring and map overlay methods. The parameters used to determine the critical condition of water catchment areas are slope, land use, rainfall, and soil texture. Based on the analysis results, the classification of water catchment areas in Pelalawan Regency in 2024 is, good condition covering an area of 390,880.51 Ha (29.15%), natural normal conditions covering an area of 826,743.14 hectares (61.66%), starting critical conditions covering an area of 122,221.02 hectares (9.12%), critical conditions covering an area of 955.03 hectares (0.07%), and no areas with very critical conditions (0%). The condition of good and critical water catchment areas greatly affects a region. Water catchment areas in good condition during the rainy season are not prone to flooding or drought during the dry season, and vice versa.
