Analisis Fitness For Service (Ffs) Pada Struktur Cangkang Silinder Dengan Cacat Korosi Pitting Dan Seragam Berdasarkan Standar Api 579 Dan Metode Elemen Hingga
ABSTRACT
PT. Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) has a heat exchanger with pitting corrosion and uniform corrosion defects on its cylinder shell. The cylinder shell structure with corrosion defects must be assessed for operational feasibility to ensure the safe operation of the equipment. This study assesses the serviceability of the cylinder shell structure with corrosion defects and analyzes the effect of corrosion defect parameter variations on the structural strength of the cylinder shell. The serviceability assessment of the cylinder shell structure can be performed using the Fitness for Service (FFS) method with three assessment levels, and the finite element method is used for FFS level 3 analysis. The analysis of pitting and uniform corrosion defect parameters was performed using the finite element method. The FFS assessment results for pitting corrosion and uniform corrosion showed that the analyzed cylinder shell structure could still operate safely after meeting the three FFS assessment criteria. The results of the uniform corrosion parametric study show that the depth ratio variation has the greatest effect on the increase in maximum stress that occurs in the cylinder shell of a pressure vessel with a maximum stress ratio of 2.04. Meanwhile, the effect of the pitting corrosion depth ratio shows a significant effect on each increase in the depth ratio of each hole.
