Penerapan Pptp Dan Pcq Untuk Mengurangi Buffering Dan Meningkatkan Kualitas Jaringan Pt. Sumber Sawindo Kencana
ABSTRACT
The face recognition attendance system at PT. Sumber Sawindo Kencana faces significant challenges regarding connection stability due to its operational location in a plantation area with limited infrastructure, resulting in high jitter reaching 125 ms, packet loss up to 31%, and buffering issues. This research aims to optimize network performance by implementing the Point to Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) as a VPN for data security and Per Connection Queue (PCQ) for proportional bandwidth distribution, employing field experiments and Quality of Service (QoS) measurements based on TIPHON standards. The implementation results demonstrate a significant improvement in performance, where throughput increased to 197 kbps, jitter decreased drastically to 0.28 ms, and packet loss was successfully eliminated to 0%, leading to the conclusion that the combination of PPTP and PCQ is effective in resolving buffering issues and improving network service quality to the "Very Good" category.
