Gambaran Penggunaan Obat Tradisional Pada Pasien Hipertensi Di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Tualang Kabupaten Siak

Hypertension is one of the chronic diseases with a high prevalence in Indonesia, including in the working area of the Tualang Community Health Center, Siak Regency. Many people in the community still use traditional medicine as a complementary therapy to help control blood pressure. This study aims to describe the use of traditional medicine among patients with hypertension in the working area of the Tualang Community Health Center. The study employed a descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 96 respondents were selected using a consecutive sampling technique. Data were collected through interviews using a questionnaire and analyzed using univariate methods. The results showed that the most commonly used medicinal plant was bay leaf, followed by celery and cucumber. The plant part most frequently used was the leaf, and the most common method of preparation was boiling. The main source of information regarding traditional medicine came from family members.
