Luaran Klinis Pasien Lumbar Spinal Stenosis Pascaoperasi Di Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Menggunakan Kuesioner Fabq
Lumbar Spinal Stenosis (LSS) is a narrowing of the spinal canal that compresses neurovascular structures, leading to lower back pain, neurogenic claudication, and disability. Beyond physical impairment, LSS also affects psychological aspects, particularly fear-avoidance beliefs related to physical activity and work. Currently, there are no available data regarding the psychological outcomes of post-operative LSS patients in Riau Province. This study employed a retrospective cohort design with an analytical observational approach involving all post-operative LSS patients at Arifin Achmad Regional Hospital from January 2023 to December 2024. The sample was determined using a total sampling technique. Secondary data were obtained from medical records, while primary data were collected using the Indonesian version of the Fear Avoidance Beliefs Questionnaire (FABQ), administered after surgery. The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test was used due to non-normal data distribution. Of the 53 patients who met the initial criteria, only 31 were eligible for analysis. Respondents were predominantly female (54.8%) and aged >60 years (45.2%). The most common surgical procedure was stabilization–decompression (35.5%), and the most frequent stenosis location was the L4–L5 segment (41.9%). The median FABQ score decreased from 74.00 before surgery to 42.00 after surgery. The Wilcoxon test indicated a significant difference (Z = -3.99; p < 0.001), suggesting psychological improvement following the intervention. LSS surgery at Arifin Achmad Regional Hospital significantly reduced FABQ scores, demonstrating enhanced psychological condition and decreased fear-avoidance beliefs related to physical activity and work.
