Pengaruh Pendapatan, Jumlah Anggota Keluarga Dan Pendidikan Terhadap Pengeluaran Konsumsi Rumah Tangga Miskin Di Kecamatan Rupat Kabupaten Bengkalis
ABSTRACT
Poverty remains a major problem in Rupat District, Bengkalis Regency. Most
residents work in the informal sector, such as fishermen and farmers, with incomes
still below the Bengkalis Regency Minimum Wage (UMK). This condition impacts
the low ability of households to meet basic daily needs. Therefore, it is important
to understand the factors that influence the consumption expenditure of poor
households. This study aims to determine the effect of income, number of family
members, and education on the consumption expenditure of poor households in
Rupat District, Bengkalis Regency, and to determine which variables most
dominantly influence the consumption expenditure of poor households. This study
uses primary data obtained through questionnaires from poor households in three
selected villages in Rupat District: Terkul Village, Sri Tanjung Village, and
Pangkalan Pinang Village. The analytical method used in this study is multiple
linear regression analysis with a quantitative approach. The results of the study
indicate that 1) Income, number of family members, and education variables
simultaneously influence consumption expenditure of poor households, 2) Partially,
income and number of family members have a significant effect on consumption
expenditure, while education has no significant effect, 3) Income is the most
dominant variable in influencing consumption expenditure of poor households in
Rupat District. This study shows that increasing household income is very
important to encourage improvements in consumption and welfare of poor families
in this area.
