Keanekaragaman Burung Pada Ekosistem Mangrove Di Desa Teluk Pambang Kecamatan Bantan Kabupaten Bengkalis
ABSTRACT
Birds are wildlife species that play essential ecological roles, including seed
dispersal, pollination, and acting as natural predators of other animals. The
distribution of bird species in different regions varies depending on vegetation
structure, habitat size, and environmental conditions that meet the species’
ecological requirements. Mangrove ecosystems serve as important habitats for
many bird species. This study aimed to identify bird species and analyze bird
diversity in Teluk Pambang Village. The direct observation method employed a
combination of the IPA-Count (Indices Ponctuels d'Abondance- Point) technique
and mist net trapping, while the indirect method involved unstructured interviews
with local residents. The results showed that a total of 56 bird species belonging to
26 families were recorded, comprising 566 individual birds. The bird species
diversity in Teluk Pambang Village, Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency was
highest in the plantation habitat (H'=3.1), which also recorded the highest species
richness (R=6.3). The lowest diversity (H'=1.9) was found in the sparse mangrove
area, which falls into the moderate category, and the lowest species richness
(R=1.9) was likewise recorded in this habitat. The evenness values across all
habitat types were generally high, while dominance values in all habitats were
categorized as low.
