This study aims to determine the implementation of religious character education for foster children at Maranatha Orphanage, Pekanbaru City through four indicators: planning, organizing, implementation, and supervision.
This research has both theoretical and practical benefits. Theoretically, it contributes to expanding the researcher’s understanding of the theory of religious character education, broadens readers’ knowledge as a reference for future research, and provides practical contributions for orphanage managers in adopting and applying the values of religious character education in fostering children. Practically, the study benefits the researcher as a learning experience, serves as a reference for the orphanage to develop its programs, provides the children with guidance in practicing religious character, enriches the community’s understanding, and acts as a reference for future researchers.

stages of planning, organizing, implementation, and supervision. Although the planning stage has not been formalized, activities are well-directed based on Biblical principles and supported by the church. The implementation is conducted through the caregivers’ exemplary behavior and the habituation of spiritual activities such as prayer, worship, and fasting. The children are also facilitated to develop their interests and talents. Supervision is carried out by caregivers with the support of CCTV, as well as simple evaluations through advice and discussions. The main obstacle lies in the caregivers’ limited time; however, the enthusiasm for nurturing remains high, and the system’s implementation is expected to improve in the future.
Based on the research findings, it is recommended that caregivers explore and apply modern, active learning methods. Foster children are encouraged to stay active in religious activities and practice religious values in their daily lives. Furthermore, the Child Welfare Institution (LKSA) is advised to design more structured development programs and provide training for caregivers to enhance their competence in fostering children’s religious character.
