Keanekaragaman Jenis Mamalia Di Hutan Adat Ghimbo Bonca Lida Kecamatan Kampa, Kabupaten Kampar, Provinsi Riau
ABSTRACT
Ghimbo Bonca Lida Customary Forest is a customary forest located in Riau
Province, featuring secondary dryland forest cover spanning approximately 100,8
hectares. This forest plays a crucial role as a habitat for various wildlife, particularly
mammals, amidst a landscape dominated by oil palm plantations. This study aims
to analyze the diversity and dominance of mammals and record the conservation
status of the species found. Data collection was conducted from May to June 2025
using a combination of direct observation methods (strip transect, rapid assessment)
and indirect observation methods (identification of activity signs, rodent traps, mist
nets, and camera traps). The results identified 11 mammal species belonging to 9
families and 4 orders. The Shannon diversity index (H'=1.59) indicated a moderate
category, while the Margalef richness index (Dmg=2.04) showed a low category.
However, the Evenness index (E=0.66) demonstrated that mammal species were
evenly distributed, a finding supported by the Simpson dominance index (D=0.24),
which indicated no single species dominance. Based on conservation status
references from the IUCN, CITES, and the Minister of Environment and Forestry
Regulation P.106/2018, the Agile Gibbon (Hylobates agilis), Lesser Mousedeer
(Tragulus kanchil), and Sambar Deer (Rusa unicolor) are classified as threatened
and protected species, both globally and nationally. Therefore, these species require
significant attention to ensure their preservation. These findings demonstrate that
the Ghimbo Bonca Lida Customary Forest is vital for the survival of mammal
populations against various threats and necessitates sustainable conservation
management.
