Kajian Mutu Buah Kelapa Sawit (Elaeis Guineensis Jacq.) Pada Umur Tanaman Yang Berbeda Di Kecamatan Kubu Kabupaten Rokan Hilir
ABSTRACT
This study aims to assess the quality of oil palm fruit produced both physically and chemically from different plant ages in Kubu District, Rokan Hilir Regency. The problem faced by farmers in Kubu Sub district is the low price of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) caused by poor quality of oil palm fruit such as FFB size and small fruit weight. The research was conducted using survey method, through field observation and laboratory analysis. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD), which consisted of 3 locations with different plant ages, namely UT1 = 10 years old oil palm plants, UT2 = 15 years old oil palm plants, UT3 = 20 years old oil palm plants. The results obtained were further tested using the DNMRT test at the 5% level. The parameters observed were fresh fruit weight, fresh fruit volume, mesocrap thickness, moisture content, CPO free fatty acid content and CPO gross content. The results showed that the good physical quality of oil palm fruit was produced at the age of 20 years compared to the age of 10 and 15 years, seen from the weight of fresh fruit, fresh fruit volume and mesocrap thickness. The chemical quality of fruit at the age of 10, 15 and 20 years old plants both meet SNI standards from the parameters of fruit moisture content, CPO free fatty acid content and CPO gross content.
