pengaruh fear of missing out(fomo) behaviordan peraninfluencerterhadap kepuasan investor dan keputusan investasi saham pada rashid hussein bank (rhb) sekuritas di pekanbaru
An investment decision is the decision to invest capital in one or more assets with the aim of achieving future profits. This decision must be made by both rational and irrational investors. Rational investors prefer low risk for a given level of return and analyze the performance of the stocks they choose. However, in reality, investors are not always rational in making decisions, such as making decisions without considering fundamental value, following the stock purchased by friends, making decisions based on past performance, bullish selling, and simplifying the decision-making process by using heuristic behavior. Decision-makers are prone to making decisions or making estimates that are off. This condition is dangerous because it is invisible and directly related to the thought process. Bias leads to prediction errors because it can lead people to miscalculate potential risks.
This study aims to analyze the influence of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) behavior and the role of influencers on investor satisfaction and stock investment decisions at Rashid Hussein Bank (RHB) Securities in Pekanbaru. This study uses quantitative methods to test and prove the hypotheses formulated through various tests and data processing. The study population is RHB Securities stock investors in Pekanbaru. Because the population size is unknown, this study uses non-probability sampling techniques. The sampling technique is derived from a population identified or determined by the researcher or based on expert judgment.
The customer sampling procedure involves determining a sample from the population that meets certain characteristics as boundaries within the population being studied. The sample selection uses purposive sampling or judgmental sampling. Purposive sampling is a sampling method that selects subjects based on specific criteria established by the researcher (Sugiyono, 2016). Researchers determined the sample based on the criteria of being domiciled in Pekanbaru City, being at least 20 years old, and having previously purchased shares using RHB Securities. Determining the representative sample size depends on (number of indicators + number of variables) x number of hypotheses, resulting in a sample size of 154 respondents.
The results of this study indicate that Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) has a positive effect on investor satisfaction. This means that investors driven by FOMO tend to make rational investment decisions because they focus on short-term profits, which can lead to financial gains that can increase overall investor satisfaction. The role of influencers has a positive influence on investor satisfaction. This means that influencers can increase trust in providing relevant information and facilitate better communication between companies and investors. Influencers with credibility and a good reputation can help build a positive company image and increase investor interest.

Fear of Missing Out Behavior has a significant positive effect on stock investment decisions. This means that FOMO can be a driving force for novice investors to start investing, as investors do not want to miss out on emerging trends or opportunities. FOMO can also encourage investors to more actively seek information and engage in discussions about the stock market, which can increase knowledge and understanding, thus improving investment decisions. The role of influencers significantly influences stock investment decisions. This means that stock influencers can introduce the concept of stock investment, the capital market, and various investment instruments to an investor audience, thereby increasing interest and awareness of potential investment returns. Credible stock influencers can provide education on how to invest, stock analysis, investment strategies, and practical tips that help investor followers make smarter investment decisions.
Investor satisfaction has a significant positive effect on stock investment decisions. This means that satisfied investors are more likely to continue investing or even increase their investment in the same stock due to their satisfaction with the company's overall performance. Companies with strong fundamentals, reliable management, and positive growth tend to make investors feel satisfied and confident in their investments, which can increase their stock purchase decisions. Fear of missing out behavior affects stock investment decisions. This means that satisfied investors tend to be calmer, more rational in their decision-making, and more resistant to the influence of FOMO, which can increase their stock purchase decisions. Investor satisfaction can mediate the influence of influencers on stock investment decisions. This means that investor satisfaction, influenced by the information provided by influencers, their investment experience, and the performance of recommended stocks, can ultimately drive sound stock investment decisions.
