pengembangan hypothenical learning trajectory (hlt) berbasis rme untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa sekolah dasar
This research aims to improve the mathematical communication of grade
VI elementary school students in mathematics subjects. The RME-based
Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) design in data processing materials was
chosen as a learning design because it provides a learning flow that is equipped with
answer prediction and anticipation of students' answers, then the RME-based HLT
design emphasizes the relationship of mathematical concepts with daily life, so that
students can more easily understand abstract concepts.
The research method used is development research with the Plomp model,
which consists of three stages, namely preliminary research, prototyping phase, and
assessment phase. In the preliminary research stage, the researcher conducts a
literature study, curriculum analysis, and identification of student needs and
characteristics to design relevant learning. Furthermore, in the prototyping phase,
the design and development of a learning prototype in the form of RME-based HLT
was carried out with sections of teachers' books, student books, and LIT, which
were then validated by three experts, namely material experts, media experts, and
linguists. Furthermore, after the media is said to be valid, a limited trial is carried
out to obtain input and revisions are made according to findings in the field. Finally,
in the assessment phase, a wider trial was conducted to evaluate the practicality and
effectiveness of learning design in improving students' mathematical
communication skills.
The results of the HLT design validation were obtained with an overall
average of 0.91 which means that it is very valid. Furthermore, for the practicality
test of students and teachers in small groups, the results were obtained respectively
100% and 99.16%, which are very practical. The results of the practicality test were
also carried out in a large group trial on students and teachers, showing results of
100% AND 95.07% respectively, which means it is very practical. To see the
difference in the improvement of students' communication skills, the N-Gain test
was also carried out, the n-gain result showed a value of 0.69 which means medium
with a percentage of 69.61% with the category "Quite effective." Then, the
conclusion was drawn by the Wilcoxon test, the results of the Wilcoxon test
obtained an Asymp value. Sig 0.001 < 0.05, it was concluded that there was a
significant difference between the average scores of students' mathematical
communication before and after the application of RME-based Hypothetical
Learning Trajectory (HLT) design to the data processing material.
