Profil Perbedaan Klinis Apendisitis Pada Anak Dan Dewasa Di Rsud Arifin Achmad 2023-2024
Appendicitis is one of the leading causes of acute abdominal pain that requires urgent surgical intervention. Globally, appendicitis accounts for an estimated 17 million new cases and 29,300 deaths per year, according to the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2021 report. The clinical presentation of appendicitis may differ between children and adults, and these variations can contribute to delayed diagnosis and an increased risk of complications. This study aimed to identify differences in the clinical symptoms of appendicitis between pediatric and adult patients at Arifin Achmad General Hospital. A cross-sectional design was employed, involvig 104 appendicitis patients from the 2023–2024 period. Data were collected from medical records and analyzed using univariate and bivariate methods, with the Chi-square test applied at a significance level of p ≤0,05.
