Analisis Usaha Tani Semangka(Citrullus Vulgaris Schard) (Studi Kasus Kelompok Tani Amara Jaya) Di Kecamatan Binawidya Kota Pekanbaru
This study analyzes watermelon (Citrullus Vulgaris schard) farming at
Amara Jaya Farmer Group in Binawidya District, Pekanbaru City. focusing on
farmers’ characteristics, the conformity of cultivation techniques to Good
Agricultural Practices (GAP), as well as aspects of production cost, income, profit,
and farming efficiency. Watermelon is an important horticultural commodity with
the potential to increase farmers' income, but efficient farm management is crucial.
This study aims to analyze the costs, revenues, and income, as well as to evaluate
the financial efficiency level of the watermelon farming. The research method used
is descriptive analytical with a case study approach. Primary data were collected
through in-depth interviews with 5 watermelon farmers who are members of Amara
Jaya Farmer Group, supplemented by secondary data from relevant agencies. Data
analysis included calculation of production costs, revenues, income, and R/C ratio
analysis. The research results indicate that the average total production cost of
watermelon farming is Rp 244,646,434 per hectare per growing season. The
average total revenue reached Rp 119,833,333.40 per hectare, resulting in an
average net income of Rp 125,296,100.00 per growing season. The farm efficiency
calculation shows an R/C ratio of 0.184, indicating that the watermelon farming at
Amara Jaya Farmer Group has not reached the break-even point and is still
incurring a total loss, despite a gross profit margin per kg.
