Uji Beberapa Konsentrasi Ekstrak Sirih Cina (Peperomia Pellucida L.) Terhadap Mortalitas Myzus Persicae Sulzer Pada Tanaman Cabai Merah
ABSTRACT
This study aimed to determine the effective concentration of Chinese betel leaf extract Peperomia pellucida L. to mortality of Myzus persicae Sulzer on red chili plant. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, from January to June 2025 using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments (0, 25, 50, 75, and 100 g/l of water) and four replications. Observed parameters included morphological and behavioral changes, initial mortality time, lethal time 50 (LT₅₀), lethal concentration 50 and 95 (LC₅₀ and LC₉₅), daily mortality, and total mortality. The results showed that Chinese betel leaf extract significantly affected M. persicae mortality. The most effective concentration was 75 g/l, causing 81.25% total mortality, with an initial mortality time of 8.75 hours and LT₅₀ of 34.75 hours after application. The LC₅₀ value was 3.06% (30.6 g/l), indicating moderate toxicity, while LC₉₅ was 17.86% (178.6 g/l). Therefore, P. pellucida extract has potential as an environmentally friendly botanical insecticide for controlling M. persicae on red chili plants.
