Abstract This research aims to determine the ability to recognize letters in children
aged 5-6 years before and after being given the Alphabet Pinwheel treatment at TK
Negeri Pembina 1 Pekanbaru. This type of research is a quantitative experiment
with a pre-experimental one group pretest posttest design. The population of the
study is 140 children aged 5-6 years at TK Negeri Pembina 1 Pekanbaru, with the
sample being children from class B1 totaling 20 children. Based on the research
results, the researcher concludes that the ability to recognize alphabet letters in
children before the treatment is at a percentage of 40.63%, and after treatment, it
increases to a percentage of 82.50%. The data collection technique used was
observation, which was conducted directly by the researcher. Data analysis using
the t-test. The research results show an improvement in the ability to recognize the
alphabet letters in children aged 5-6 years viewed from the average score obtained
before and after the treatment. The results of the data analysis obtained t-count of -
30.615 which is greater than t-table of 2.093 from this research can be concluded
that the Alphabet Pinwheel Media has an effect on the ability to recognize alphabet
letters in children aged 5-6 years in TK Negeri 1 Pekanbaru. It can be concluded in
this study that there is an influence of the Alphabet Pinwheel media before and after
on the ability to recognize alphabet letters in children aged 5-6 years at TK Negeri
Pembina 1 Pekanbaru.
