This study aims to analyze the kinship and non-kinship address system in the Riau Malay language, sub-dialect of Gunung Toar District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. The data used in this study consist of speech expressions from the community in the form of address terms. The data source is the local community residing in Gunung Toar District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. Based on the conducted research, it was found that there are both kinship and non-kinship address forms. The researcher collected a total of 79 data items related to the address system in Gunung Toar District. The kinship address system consists of terms based on lineage/nuclear family relationships and those based on marital relationships. Meanwhile, the non-kinship address system includes traditional, religious, and age-based address terms.
