Evaluasi Penerapan Project Time Management Di Industri Konstruksi Studi Kasus: Kontraktor Di Pekanbaru
ABSTRACT
A construction project has specific objectives that must be met, namely on-time, onbudget,
and on-quality, as well as safety in the construction process. These
objectives will be met if there is good management, one of which is project time
management. This study aims to evaluate the application of Project Time
Management (PTM) in construction projects carried out by contractors in the city
of Pekanbaru. The main objectives of this study are to analyze the level of PTM
implementation, identify obstacles encountered in its implementation, and assess
the suitability between field practices and the guidelines in the Construction
Extension to the PMBOK Guide–2000 Edition, PMBOK Guide–2000 Edition,
PMBOK Guide–Fifth Edition, and PMBOK Guide–Seventh Edition. The research
method used was a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Data
were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation
studies of eleven contractors engaged in road construction work in Pekanbaru.
Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman interactive model,
which included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and
verification. The results showed that the level of PTM implementation by large
contractors in Pekanbaru was relatively high, with an average of 80.18%. The
highest implementation was achieved by Contractor IV at 91.54%, while the lowest
was achieved by Contractor III at 72.29%. The process with the highest
implementation was Schedule Control (92.95%) and the lowest was Activity
Sequencing (55.11%). The main obstacles in PTM implementation include limited
competent human resources, delays in material procurement, project design
changes, weather factors, and low utilization of digital technology. The results of
this study confirm that optimal PTM implementation requires strengthening the time
monitoring system, increasing human resource capacity, and integrating
technology in project management to be in line with PMBOK principles.
