Analisis Nilai Waste Reduction Index (Wri) Dan Efficiency Of Conversion Of Digested Feed (Ecd) Dengan Variasi Pakan Limbah Kulit Ari Kedelai Dan Limbah Ampas Tahu Menggunakan Larva Black Soldier Fly
ABSTRACT
The high accumulation of soybean seed coat and tofu dregs waste contributes to
environmental problems, therefore, an effective and eco-friendly waste
management alternative is needed. One potential solution is the utilization of Black
Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of fermented feed
variations of soybean seed coat and tofu dregs on the performance of BSF larvae
in reducing organic waste, assessed using the Waste Reduction Index (WRI) and
the Efficiency of Conversion of Digested Feed (ECD). The fermentation process
reduced the crude fiber content of soybean seed coat to 16.54%, with a reduction
efficiency of 44.4%. Four feed compositions were applied, namely R1 (100%
soybean seed coat as control), R2 (80% + 20%), R3 (75% + 25%), and R4 (70%
soybean seed coat + 30% tofu dregs). The experiment was conducted for 15 days
in a bioreactor using 350 seven-day-old BSF larvae. Observed parameters included
waste reduction, larval weight gain, moisture content, pH, temperature, nutritional
composition (protein, fat, carbohydrate), and larval survival rate. The results
showed that R4 provided the best performance, with a WRI of 3.78/day, an ECD of
10.73%, and a survival rate of 96.07%. The protein (25.09%), lipid (27.30%), and
carbohydrate (2.96%) contents of the BSF larvae reared in reactor 4 conform to
the nutritional quality requirements for layer chicken feed as stipulated in SNI
8920.3:2016. Spearman’s Rank Correlation analysis revealed that pH had a
significant effect on waste reduction (p = 0.001 < 0.05). Overall, the combination
of fermented soybean seed coat and tofu dregs improved bioconversion efficiency
and produced BSF larvae with high nutritional quality.
