Dermogenys sumatrana was inhabit the Suluok Ukam Lake. Information on feeding habit and reproductive biology aspects of this fish from that lake unfortunately was unavailable. A study aimed to analyze the feeding habit and reproductive aspects of this fish was conducted from January to maret 2024. Fish samplings were carried out three times, once/week. There were 52 fishes collected during the study, consisting of 33 females and 19 males, ranged from 31–64 mm SL and 0.21–0.8 g BW. Sex ratio of males and females was 1:2. The main food of this fish was insects (PI 88.73%), plant remains (PI 3.69%) and unidentified materials (PI 7.58%). The male fish were at 1st, 3rd and 4th maturity stages, while that of the female was 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th maturity stages. Fish fecundity ranged from 12–24 eggs/fish. In the ovary there were eggs with embryo in different development stages (superfetation), and the egg diameters ranged from 0.825–2.4 mm. Based on data obtained, it can be concluded that D. sumatrana was classified as a carnivorous – ovoviviparous fish.
