Perancangan Ulang Desain Kemasan Keripik Ubi Umkm Family Menggunakan Metode Quality Function Deployment

ABSTRACT
Umkm Family is a cassava chip shop located in Pekanbaru City. The problem
with umkm Family lies in the packaging of its cassava chips, which is made of clear
0.3mm polypropylene (PP) plastic tied with rubber. This packaging causes
problems such as changes in color and texture in the cassava chips. Therefore,
research was conducted on redesigning the packaging of Family MSME cassava
chips using the quality function deployment method. This study aims to redesign
the packaging design of cassava chips products from small and medium enterprises
(SMEs) in Tenayan Raya District, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. This study used
observation with a qualitative descriptive approach and quantitative descriptive.
Qualitative descriptive analysis was conducted through direct interviews and by
distributing questionnaires to collect information about the voice of customers,
collecting technical parameter data through interviews with experts and designing
alternative designs for cassava chip packaging. Quantitative analysis was conducted
by processing data from questionnaires about attribute importance level, consumer
satisfaction level and selling points, calculating the improvement ratio and
calculating the house of quality. Based on the results of the study, 9 consumer
desires were obtained from voice of customer interviews and 7 categories of
technical parameters and 19 technical parameters that need to be done to fulfill
consumer desires. The proposed packaging design obtained is a packaging that has
a standing pouch shape, bright colors, weighing 100 g with security in the form of
tear notches and ziplocks, given a handle hole on the packaging, using metalized
packaging materials, and information on the packaging must be included correctly
and completely.
