Pertumbuhan Dan Hasil Padi Gogo (Oryza Sativa L.) Pada Medium Podsolik Dengan Pemberian Biochar Sekam Padi Dan Poc Bonggol Pisang
ABSTRACT
Rice is an important food crop commodity that produces rice as the staple food for the Indonesian population. This study aims to examine the interaction effect of rice husk biochar application with banana corm liquid organic fertilizer (LOF), the individual effects of each on the growth and yield of upland rice, and to determine the best combination of doses to enhance the growth and yield of upland rice in podzolic medium. This research was conducted at the Greenhouse and Soil Science Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Riau, over five months from February to July 2025. The study employed a factorial experiment using a completely randomized design (CRD). Factor I was rice husk biochar (B) consisting of three tillers, number of productive tillers, panicle emergence time, harvesting time, number of filled grains, percentage of filled grains, weight of 100 filled grains, and milled dry grain weight. Results demonstrated that the interaction between rice husk biochar and banana corm LOF did not show improvement in all observed parameters. The interaction of rice husk biochar at a dose of 37.5 g/polybag with banana corm LOF at a dose of 400 ml/polybag demonstrated the best growth and yield across all observed parameters. The application of rice husk biochar increased plant height, number of productive tillers, days to panicle emergence, days to harvest, number of filled grains, percentage of filled grains, weight of 100 filled grains, and milled dry grain weight. Rice husk biochar at a dose of 37.5 g/polybag showed the best growth and yield across all observed parameters. The application of banana corm LOF improved the growth and yield of upland rice across all observed parameters. Banana corm LOF at a dose of 400 ml/polybag demonstrated the best growth and yield across all observed parameters.
