Uji Daya Predasi Coccinella Transversalis Fabricius Terhadap Kutu Putih Paracoccus Marginatus Williams & Granara De Willink Hama Tanaman Pepaya Di Laboratorium
ABSTRACT
Papaya (Carica papaya L.) is a tropical plant with fruit rich in nutrients such as provitamin A, vitamin B, provitamin C, minerals, and fiber. Papaya yields in Riau have been declining annually, caused by the decline in production due to the mealybug (Paracoccus marginatus) pest. The use of the predator C. transversalis can be an alternative for controlling P. marginatus safely. This study aimed to determine the predation capacity of Coccinella transversalis Fabricius against mealybug Paracoccus marginatus in Laboratory. This study was conducted at the Plant Pest Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, for three months from January to March 2025. The study was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and repeated 4 times. The results showed that the predation power of C. transversalis predators with P.marginatus prey ranged from 32-44 nymphs per day.
