Aplikasi Pupuk Bokashi Mucuna Bracteata Dan Pupuk Npkmg Terhadap Pertumbuhan Bibit Kelapa Sawit (Elaeis Guineensis Jacq.) Di Pre Nursery
ABSTRACT
Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is one of Indonesia’s major agricultural commodities, with plantation areas reaching 16.83 million hectares, including 3.5 million hectares in Riau Province in 2023. Many oil palm trees have exceeded their productive age (20–25 years), requiring replanting with superior seedlings. However, nursery management is often constrained by low soil fertility, particularly soils with low organic matter and acidic pH. This study aimed to evaluate the interaction effects of bokashi made from Mucuna bracteata and NPKMg fertilizer on the growth of oil palm seedlings at the pre-nursery stage. The experiment was arranged in a factorial randomized complete design (RCD) with two factors: bokashi from Mucuna bracteata (20 g, 30 g, and 40 g per polybag) and NPKMg fertilizer (0 g, 0.25 g, and 0.5 g per plant per 100 ml of water). This resulted in nine treatment combinations, each replicated three times. Observed parameters included plant height, collar diameter, number of leaves, leaf area, chlorophyll content, photosynthetic rate, root volume, fresh and dry biomass, and shoot-to-root ratio. The results showed that the interaction between bokashi and NPKMg significantly affected plant height and collar diameter. Bokashi alone significantly influenced most growth parameters, while NPKMg significantly affected plant height, number of leaves, collar diameter, biomass, root volume, and photosynthetic rate. The best growth performance of D × P Topaz 4 oil palm seedlings (0–3 months) was obtained from the combination of 40 g bokashi Mucuna bracteata per polybag and 0.5 g NPKMg per polybag.
