Pemberian Abu Tandan Kosong Kelapa Sawit Dan Pupuk Npk Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Produksi Tanaman Cabai Rawit (Capsicum Frutescens L.)
ABSTRACT
Bird’s eye chili (Capsicum frutescens L.) is an important horticultural commodity in Indonesia; however, its production in Riau Province decreased from 7.4 tons in 2022 to 6.6 tons in 2023 due to unfavorable soil conditions, particularly high soil acidity. Efforts to improve soil conditions were carried out using oil palm empty fruit bunch (EFB) ash as an ameliorant, along with NPK fertilization to provide nutrients for the plants. The research was conducted experimentally using a factorial completely randomized design (CRD), with four levels of EFB ash (0, 3.5, 7, and 10.5 t/ha) and three levels of NPK fertilizer (100, 200, and 300 kg/ha). The observed parameters included plant height, flowering age, harvest age, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight, fruit weight per plant, and yield per plot. Data were statistically analyzed using ANOVA, followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test at the 5 % significance level. The results showed that the interaction between EFB ash and NPK fertilizer had no significant effect on all parameters. However, the combination of 10.5 t/ha EFB ash and 300 kg/ha NPK fertilizer produced the best results by increasing plant height, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant, and fruit weight per plot. The 7 t/ha EFB ash treatment increased the number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant, and yield per plot in bird’s eye chili. The 300 kg/ha NPK fertilizer treatment increased plant height, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant, and yield per plot in bird’s eye chili.
