Pertumbuhan Dan Hasil Okra (Abelmoschus Esculentus L.) Pada Medium Ultisol Yang Diaplikasi Dengan Kompos Solid Dan Fly Ash Batubara
ABSTRACT
Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.) is a type of vegetable that is high in nutrients and beneficial to health. Okra fruit is becoming increasingly popular. This study aims to determine the interaction and main effects of solid compost and coal fly ash. The research was conducted at the Soil Science Laboratory and Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, from April 2024 to February 2025. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) in a factorial arrangement, Factor I was solid compost consisting of 3 levels (0, 5, and 10 t/ha or 0, 2,5, and 5 g/kg of medium) and Factor II was coal fly ash consisting of 3 levels (0, 5, and 10 t/ha or 0, 2,5, and 5 g/kg of medium). The parameters observed were plant height, harvest age, fruit length, fruit diameter, number of fruits, and fruit weight. The data obtained were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance and followed by a DNMRT test at a 5% level. The results showed that the interaction between solid compost and coal fly ash had no effect on all observation parameters. Solid compost at 10 t/ha increased fruit length, diameter, number, and weight per plant and accelerated the first harvest age. Coal fly ash at 5 t/ha increased fruit length and diameter and accelerated the first harvest age. The optimal dose for solid compost was 10 t/ha, and the optimal dose for coal fly ash was 5 t/ha.
