Analisis Pola Dan Perilaku Konsumsi Daging Ayam Ras Oleh Rumahtangga Peserta Program Keluarga Harapan Di Kota Pekanbaru
ABSTRACT
This study is motivated by the low level of chicken meat consumption among
low-income households, particularly those receiving Program Keluarga Harapan
in Pekanbaru City, whose intake remains far below national nutritional
recommendations and reflects high vulnerability to food price fluctuations and
limited purchasing power. The study aims to analyze consumption patterns,
identify dominant factors influencing chicken consumption, and evaluate the
effects of price and income changes to formulate relevant policy
recommendations. A total of 315 households receiving Program Keluarga Harapan
were selected using a multistage sampling method combined with simple random
sampling through a lottery system. Data were analyzed using descriptive methods
and multiple linear regression. The findings show that chicken consumption is
significantly influenced by chicken prices, prices of other poultry, beef prices, egg
prices, cooking oil prices, chili prices, onion prices, household income, household
size, and the employment type of the household head. Simulation analyses reveal
that increases in food prices decrease consumption, whereas higher income levels
enhance consumption and reduce the negative effects of price changes. These
results highlight that households receiving Program Keluarga Harapan are highly
sensitive to economic fluctuations, emphasizing the need for price stabilization
efforts, improved access to affordable animal protein, and nutrition education to
support adequate protein intake and strengthen food security among low-income
households.
