Analisis Pola Dan Perilaku Konsumsi Susu Kental Manis Oleh Rumahtangga Peserta Program Keluarga Harapan Di Kota Pekanbaru
ABSTRACT
This study analyzes the consumption patterns and behavior related to milk,
especially sweetened condensed milk among households participating in the
Program Keluarga Harapan in Pekanbaru City. This study aims to identify milk
consumption patterns across household size, education levels, and employment
categories; analyze the dominant factors influencing sweetened condensed milk
consumption; and examine the effects of price and income changes on
consumption behavior through simulation analysis. This research used a
quantitative descriptive approach combined with multiple regression analysis and
simulation analysis. Primary data were collected through structured interviews
with households receiving financial support from the Program Keluarga Harapan,
while secondary data were obtained from relevant institutions. The findings
indicate that sweetened condensed milk is the most widely consumed milk
product among households participating in the Program Keluarga Harapan due to
its affordability and long shelf life. However, overall milk consumption remains
below the recommended intake of 78 grams per capita per day. Consumption
levels vary by household characteristics, with higher intake observed among
smaller households, those with higher educational attainment, and households
with heads of household employed in the formal sector. Regression results show
that the most influential factors include the price of sweetened condensed milk,
household size, employment type, instant coffee price, income, bulk ground coffee
price, Kapal Api coffee price, fresh fish price, and the price of other eggs.
Simulation analyses further demonstrate that increases in the price of sweetened
condensed milk significantly reduce consumption, whereas income increases only
slightly offset this effect. These results highlight the need for supportive
government interventions to improve access to nutritious milk products for lowincome
households.
