Analisis Pola Dan Perilaku Konsumsi Telur Ayam Ras Oleh Rumahtangga Peserta Program Keluarga Harapan Di Kota Pekanbaru
ABSTRACT
This study is motivated by the rising price of chicken eggs and the strong
dependence of low-income households in Pekanbaru City, particularly beneficiaries
of the Program Keluarga Harapan (PKH), on this commodity as their primary
source of animal protein. The study aims to identify the consumption patterns of
chicken eggs based on household categories, types of employment, and educational
levels. In addition, it analyzes the dominant factors influencing consumption,
examines household responses to these dominant factors, and assesses the impact
of price and income changes on chicken egg consumption. A quantitative approach
was employed using a survey of 315 PKH households across seven districts of
Pekanbaru City selected through multistage sampling. Data were analyzed
descriptively, followed by multiple linear regression using the Ordinary Least
Squares method, along with policy simulations to evaluate the effects of price and
income changes. The findings indicate that chicken egg consumption patterns
among PKH households vary by household category, education level, and type of
employment, yet remain below the recommended daily intake of one egg or 55
grams per capita. The dominant factors influencing chicken egg consumption
include the price of chicken eggs, the price of fresh fish, the price of other onion,
the price of chili, household size, and income. Simulation results show that an
increase in chicken egg prices exerts the strongest pressure on reducing
consumption.
