Analisis Pola Dan Perilaku Konsumsi Buah Oleh Rumahtangga Peserta Program Keluarga Harapan Di Kota Pekanbaru
ABSTRACT
This study aims to analyze the patterns and behavior of fruit consumption by
households participating in the Program Keluarga Harapan in Pekanbaru City. The
data were obtained through a direct survey of 315 households selected using the
multistage sampling method. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive
quantitative analysis and multiple linear regression with the Ordinary Least
Square (OLS) method. The results show that fruit consumption by PKH
participants in Pekanbaru City remains below the national nutritional
recommendation, with an average of 59.31 grams per capita per day. The level of
education is the most influential factor in shaping consumption patterns, followed
by the type of occupation and the number of household members. Households
with higher education levels and formal employment exhibit higher fruit
consumption compared to other household groups. In contrast, households with a
larger number of members show lower per capita fruit consumption due to limited
purchasing power. The regression results indicate that fruit prices, income, the
number of household members, the prices of packaged fruit beverages, the prices
of fruit juice, the prices of other sugar products, and vegetable prices significantly
affect fruit consumption by PKH households in Pekanbaru City. The elasticity
results show that none of the factors are responsive to fruit consumption. The
simulation results indicate that an increase in fruit prices reduces consumption,
while an increase in income increases fruit consumption. These findings
emphasize the importance of price stabilization policies and improving the
purchasing power of low-income communities to encourage the fulfillment of
fruit consumption in accordance with nutritional recommendations.
