Peran Penyuluh Perikanan Dalam Pengembangan Kelompok Nelayan Di Kecamatan Langgam Kabupaten Pelalawan Provinsi Riau

One of the important roles of fisheries extension officers is to facilitate the development of fishermen groups. Langgam District is one of the areas targeted for the development of fishermen groups in Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province. This study aims to analyze the role of fisheries extension officers and the development of fishermen groups, as well as to determine the relationship between the role of fisheries extension officers and the development of fishermen groups. The research was conducted using a survey method with a quantitative approach. The respondents consisted of 50 members from 5 fishermen groups. Data were collected through interviews based on questionnaires, followed by observation and documentation. The data were measured using a Likert scale and analyzed using the Spearman Rank correlation test. The results showed that the role of fisheries extension officers is categorized as good, including their functions as facilitators, educators, motivators, catalysts, and advocates. The development of fishermen groups is also categorized as good. The Spearman Rank correlation test indicates a significant and positive relationship between the role of fisheries extension officers and the development of fishermen groups, meaning that the better the role of the extension officers, the more developed the fishermen groups in Langgam District become.
