pengaruh video edukasi dan terapi kognitif terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan dan dukungan suami dalam mencegah depresi postpartum
Introduction: Postpartum depression is a psychological disorder that can disrupt the mother's adaptation process after giving birth. Husbands as a support system are often not involved in this condition, due to the husband's lack of knowledge in accompanying the mother in the postpartum phase. Educational interventions are important, to increase husband's support in preventing postpartum depression. This study aims to analyze the effect of educational videos and cognitive therapy on husband's support in preventing postpartum depression. Methods: The research design used was a quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design. This study involved 66 married couples who were divided into experimental (n=33) and control (n=33) groups using a purposive sampling technique. The instruments used were the Edinburgh Post Natal Scale (EPDS) questionnaire, husband's knowledge questionnaire and husband's support questionnaire. Data analysis used the t-test, Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney. Results: Husband's knowledge in the experimental group increased from an average of 3.73 to 6.76. Husband's support in the experimental group increased from an average of 29.94 to 56.91. The median depression score in the experimental group decreased from 6.00 to 4.00, while in the control group it increased from 6.00 to 10.00. The statistical test results showed a significant effect of educational video and cognitive therapy interventions on increasing husbands' knowledge and support to prevent postpartum depression. Conclusion: Postpartum depression can be prevented by using a combination of educational video and cognitive therapy interventions.
