ABSTRACT
Corn sheller machine functions to separate corn kernels from the cobs. Corn sheller is a tool designed to improve and speed up the shelling results. With this mechanical corn sheller machine design, corn shelling work is more effective and efficient compared to manual shelling such as traditional shelling by hand, shelling with the tpi model, and the large method. The design results contain several main components of the corn sheller, namely the tool frame, drive motor, hopper, corn kernel outlet, corn cob outlet, shaft, pulley, and V belt. The working principle of the corn sheller is a tool that is driven by two pulleys, namely the sheller shaft pulley with 7 inches and the drive motor pulley with 3 inches. When the tool is driven by the drive motor, the sheller shaft pulley and the drive motor pulley rotate simultaneously. The sheller is mounted on a shaft with ø 135 mm with a width of square bar which aims to carry out shelling on 12 mm corn. And the shaft rotation used to thresh the corn is 600 rpm.
