Hubungan Panjang Berat Dan Pola Pertumbuhan Ikan Tuakang (Helostoma Temminckii) Di Oxbow Teluk Banderas Desa Rantau Baru Kecamatan Pangkalan Kerinci Kabupaten Pelalawan
Helostoma temminckii or known as tuakang fish, is a freshwater fish species that is found in Teluk Benderas. A study purposes to determine the length-weight relationship, growth patterns, and condition factors of H. temminckii was conducted from February to May 2025. Fish samplings were carried out four times / month. A total of 102 fishes were caught during the study, with 70 males and 32 females. The total length ranged from 8.2 to 20.2 cm, and the weight ranged from 10 to 184 g. The results shown that the growth pattern of the fish in general was an isometric growth (b = 2.9736 and R² = 0.8966). The male growth pattern was also isometric (b = 2.9553), while that of the female was isometric (b=3.0207). the reltionship between length and weight in males as well as females were strong, with R² = 0.8902 in maled and R² = 0.9161 in females. These conditions indicate that the aquatic environment was able to supports the growth of fish. The condition factor the fish ranged from 1.851 to 4.177 for females and 1.728 to 5.440 for males, indicating the habitat was productive. The water quality parameters in the study area were as follows: temperature 30°C, brightness 44.5 cm, depth 2.54 m, pH 5, DO 4.41 mg/L , and free CO2 11.08 mg/L. Data obtained indicate that H. temminckii grow properly in the study area and the environmental condition is good and supporting the life of that fish.
