Status Kualitas Perairan Sungai Tenayan Kota Pekanbaru Menggunakan Metode Fbi (Family Biotic Index)
The Tenayan River has been polluted by anthropogenic activities around the Tenayan River waters. This condition can have an impact on the decline in water quality and the acosystem within it, including macrozoobenthos. This study aims to determine the water quality of the Tenayan River in Pekanbaru City using the FBI (Family Biotic Index) method. This study was conducted from January to February 2025 at four stations. Sampling was conducted at four sampling points at each station, repeated four times at intervals of fourteen days. Benthos samples were sampled using a 15 x 20 cm Van Veen Grab lowered into the water to the bottom. Then the sample is lifted, and the lifted substrate is filtered using a sieve or screen with a mesh size of 1,0 x 1,0 mm. Next, the filtered macrozoobenthos samples were transferred to plastic clips, then labeled with the station code. Samples measuring 1-5 cm were placed in 4% formalin and stored in a coolbox. The macrozoobenthos samples obtained were then grouped based on similar shapes and identified in the laboratory. The macrozoobenthos found in this study were grouped into three families. The abundance of macrozoobethos ranged from 41.67 to 608.33 ind/m2. The macrozoobenthos diversity index in the waters ranged from 0.994 to 1.256, which is classified as low, the uniformity index ranged from 0.774 to 0.994, which is classified as low. Meanwhile, the FBI value ranged from 7.4 to 7.6. Station 1 showed the highest FBI value of 7.6, indicating that the water quality status of determining the water quality status of the Tenayan
River using the FBI (Family Biotic Index) method, it was categorized as poor.
