Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Laps-Heuristik Untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Pada Materi Momentum Dan Impuls Siswa Kelas Xi Sma Negeri 7 Pekanbaru
Physics is one of the subjects taught in senior high school (SMA) that studies matter, energy, and the interaction between the two. However, in practice, physics teaching at SMAN 7 Pekanbaru is still dominated by lectures and lacks innovation in the selection of learning models, especially for momentum and impulse, which are difficult to understand conceptually. This condition causes students to become less active, easily bored, and their learning outcomes have not reached the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). Therefore, an alternative learning model is needed that can improve students' critical thinking skills, one of which is the LAPS-Heuristic (Logan Avenue Problem Solving) learning model, which emphasizes the active involvement of students in the learning process (student-centered learning).
The purpose of this study was to describe the results of critical thinking skills using the LAPS-Heuristic learning model and to improve critical thinking skills in momentum and impulse. The benefits of this study are that students can improve their critical thinking, while teachers can use it as a reference in physics learning to improve students' critical thinking. The research was conducted on momentum and impulse material, which is material for the 11th grade in the odd semester of the independent curriculum. The school where the research was conducted was SMA Negeri 7 Pekanbaru.
The research design used was Quasi Experimental with a Nonequivalent Post-test Only Control Group Design. This design consisted of two class groups, namely the experimental class XI.4, which applied the LAPS-Heuristic learning model, and the control class XI.3, which applied the conventional model. After both classes had been given treatment with each learning model, data collection was carried out by administering a post-test.
The test instrument in this study was a critical thinking ability indicator test with questions based on Ennis' critical thinking ability indicators, consisting of 12 objective questions. The post-test results were then collected and analyzed using the t-test for independent samples. The test instrument in this study was a critical thinking ability indicator test with questions based on critical thinking ability indicators by Ennis, consisting of 12 objective questions. The post-test results were then analyzed using descriptive analysis and inferential analysis through the Independent Sample T test technique assisted by SPSS 25.

The results of descriptive analysis of students' critical thinking skills show that there is a significant difference between the average scores of the experimental class and the control class, with a positive value of 20.87. The class that applied the LAPS-Heuristic learning model was in the excellent category with an average score of 82.08, while the class that applied the conventional learning model was in the good category with an average score of 61.21. Inferential analysis showed that there was a significant difference between the class that applied the LAPS-Heuristic learning model and the class that applied the conventional learning model in the momentum and impulse material.
Based on the results of descriptive and inferential analysis, it can be concluded that the application of the LAPS-Heuristic learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills in momentum and impulse material in class XI at SMA Negeri 7 Pekanbaru. In connection with the research results, it is recommended that the LAPS-Heuristic model be applied as an alternative in learning.
