This study aims to synthesize clay-based zeolite using the hydrothermal alkali fusion method with varying mol ratios of Na2O/SiO2 and performing alkali metal impregnation to analyze its effect on CO2 adsorption capacity. Characterization was performed using XRF, XRD, and FTIR analysis, followed by TPD-CO2 analysis on the zeolite after impregnation to determine the nature and strength of the base sites based on the resulting CO2 adsorption capacity. The XRF analysis results showed that Maredan clay contained 33.293% SiO2 and 18.041% Al2O3. The XRD analysis results showed that zeolite with a mol ratio of Na2O 5.3 produced zeolite with the highest crystallinity of 96.33% and a crystal size ofo27.88 nm. FTIR analysis results showed the presence of characteristic vibrations from Si-O-Al and double ring vibrations D4R and D6R, which indicate the formation of a zeolite structure. Based on TPD-CO2 results, CO2 adsorption capacity increased after the impregnation process. The adsorption capacity values for each sample were 1.0108 mmol/g for zeolite Y, 1.2908 mmol/g for Na/zeolite Y, 1.3948 mmol/g for K/zeolite Y, and 1.8840 mmol/g for Na-K/zeolite Y.
