Tradisi“Mando’a Padang” Padi Di Desa Danau Kabupaten Kuantan Singing
The Mandoa Padang tradition is an effort carried out by farmers to pray and ask the creator
to be given safety in the form of fertile land, protection from natural disasters, pests and
diseases and to be able to provide abundant rice harvests for the people of Danau village,
Kuantan Hilir Seberang district, Kuantan Singingi Regency. It's called the Mandoa Padang
Tradition because the procession takes place in the village hall, and the fields are called
padang. Therefore, this tradition continues to be practiced and has survived to this day. The
research method used in this study was qualitative. Data collection techniques used were
observation, interviews, and documentation. The author used descriptive analysis to analyze
the data, attempting to describe and interpret the object as it is (Mandoa Padang). The results
of the study explain that the traditions of Mandoa Padang are a form of inheritance of ancestral
traditions with the encouragement of the ninik mamak aiming to pray to Allah SWT to be given
safety for the year of the rice fields or farmers such as fertile soil, avoiding natural disasters,
diseases, rice pests and getting abundant rice yields. In addition, it means that the community
still maintains and maintains the traditions of their ancestors and completes their annual
activities. The findings of this study further about the community can be seen from the
enthusiasm of the community in working together in all matters for the smooth implementation
of Mandoa Padang such as mutual cooperation, slaughtering and cooking cattle, making
jambar godang and strengthening ties of silaturrahmi.
