ABSTRACT
Food consumption patterns refer to the allocation of household resources to meet nutritional needs through the selection, procurement, and utilization of food. Kampar Regency is one of the regions where the community depends on the agricultural sector as the primary source of livelihood, including farming households in Muktisari Village, Tapung District. This study aims to identify the consumption patterns of farming households and analyze the relationship between income, education, and the number of family dependents on the consumption patterns of farming households in Muktisari Village, Tapung District, Kampar Regency. The study was conducted from October 2023 to March 2024 using a survey method. The research location was determined purposively based on the diversity of farmers’ income levels, which influenced variations in household consumption patterns. Samples were selected using the Simple Random Sampling method, involving 50 farmer respondents. Data analysis was carried out using the Spearman Rank Correlation method. The results showed that the correlation coefficient (rs) values for the variables of income, education, and number of family dependents were 0.020, 0.083, and 0.092, respectively. These findings indicate that the relationships between income, education, and the number of family dependents and the consumption patterns of farming households are categorized as very weak, as the correlation coefficient values fall within the interval of 0.00–0.199.
