Pengaruh Metode Pembelajaran Snowball Throwing Terhadap Hasil Belajar Kognitif Sejarah Siswa Kelas X Di SMA Negeri 2 Dayun
This study was motivated by the suboptimal cognitive learning outcomes of students in history learning. This condition was indicated by the low level of student participation during the learning process, such as asking questions, participating in discussions, and expressing opinions, resulting in students’ understanding of the material not being achieved optimally. The objectives of this study were: (1) to determine the implementation of the Snowball Throwing learning method in history learning among tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Dayun; (2) to determine whether there was an effect of the Snowball Throwing learning method on students’ cognitive learning outcomes in history learning; and (3) to determine the effectiveness of the Snowball Throwing learning method on students’ cognitive learning outcomes. This study employed a Quasi-Experimental Design using the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The subjects consisted of two classes, namely class X1 as the control class with 30 students and class X3 as the experimental class with 29 students. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and documentation. Data analysis techniques included validity, reliability, normality, homogeneity, hypothesis testing using the t-test, and the NGain effectiveness test. The results showed that the Snowball Throwing learning method affected students’ cognitive learning outcomes in history learning. The NGain score of 0.64, equivalent to 64%, indicated that the Snowball Throwing learning method was effective in improving students’ cognitive learning outcomes in history learning.
