Reaktivasi Stasiun Naras Dan Dampaknya Terhadap Kota Pariaman (2016-2024)

This study aims to examine the reactivation process of Naras Station and analyze its impact on the development of Pariaman City in the period 2016–2024. Naras Station is one of the railway infrastructure that has had an important role since the colonial era, but was deactivated in 1998 due to a decline in operations. The government through the Directorate General of Railways then carried out a reactivation program as part of efforts to revitalize rail-based transportation in Indonesia. This research uses historical (historical) methods which include heuristic, verification, interpretation, and historiography stages. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, as well as documentation and literature studies. The analysis was carried out qualitatively with a descriptive approach to reconstruct the reactivation process and identify the impact caused. The results of the study show that the reactivation of Naras Station was carried out through the planning stages (2016–2017), construction (2018), operational trials (2019), until the inauguration on March 22, 2019. This process involves the Directorate General of Railways, the Padang Class II Railway Engineering Center, and PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero). This reactivation has a positive impact on Pariaman City, especially in improving transportation accessibility, encouraging economic growth through the tourism sector, and supporting community mobility, including students and students. In addition, Naras Station was also designated as a cultural heritage in 2021, which shows its historical value in the development of railways in the region. Thus, the reactivation of Naras Station not only serves as an effort to revive transportation infrastructure, but also contributes to the development of the region socially, economically, and historically in Pariaman City.
