Analisis Kinerja Jaringan Wireless Body Area Network (Wban) Ieee 802.15.6 Berbasis Hypermac Dan Leach Menggunakan Beban Trafik Medis Dinamis
ABSTRACT
IEEE 802.15.6 standard Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) plays a crucial role in wireless patient health monitoring, but is faced with the challenges of dynamic medical traffic load fluctuations and energy limitations. This study aims to evaluate the performance of a WBAN network architecture that integrates the HyperMAC protocol at the Media Access Control (MAC) layer and Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH) at the routing layer. Simulations were performed using Network Simulator 3 (NS-3) with four main scenarios, namely routine traffic under static conditions, routine traffic with Random 2D Walk mobility, critical traffic (burst traffic) with Poisson distribution under static conditions, and critical traffic with Poisson distribution with Random 2D Walk mobility (1 m/s). The test results prove that this combined protocol successfully meets Quality of Service (QoS) standards for critical medical such as Electrocardiogram (ECG). In critical and moving conditions, the protocol is able to suppress maximum latency at 3.46 ms, far below the tolerance threshold of 125 ms, while maintaining a stable Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) at 62.79%. Although the surge in emergency packet transmissions exponentially increases power consumption and reduces the network operational lifespan (Network Lifetime) from 34 hours to 5.90 hours in static conditions, the presence of patient mobility actually provides benefits. The dynamics of patient movement create a natural load-balancing effect during the Cluster Head rotation process in the LEACH algorithm, which effectively increases the Network Lifetime to 6.27 hours.
