Studi Pemangaatan Wavelength Division Multiplexing (Wdm) Drop Dalam Mengurangi Dispersion Power Fading (Dpf) Pada Jaringan Radio Over Fiber (Rof)
ABSTRACT
The Radio over Fiber (RoF) system, which transmits Radio Frequency (RF) signals through optical fiber, still faces a major issue known as Dispersion Power Fading (DPF). DPF occurs due to chromatic dispersion, which causes RF signal power fluctuations at the receiver side and degrades system performance. This study aims to analyze the use of an optimized Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) Drop to reduce the effect of DPF in a WDM RoF system. The simulation was carried out using OptiSystem by comparing a standard WDM RoF circuit and an optimized WDM RoF circuit. In the standard circuit, the WDM Drop frequencies were set according to the laser frequencies, namely 193.414 THz and 194.414 THz, with a bandwidth of 150 GHz. In the optimized circuit, the WDM Drop frequencies were shifted to 193.384 THz and 194.384 THz, with a bandwidth of 80 GHz. The measurement was conducted over optical fiber distances from 0 to 6 km with an increment of 0.05 km. The observed parameters included signal power, Q-Factor, Bit Error Rate (BER), constellation diagram, and phase adjustment. The simulation results show that the optimized WDM Drop can make the signal power more stable, increase the Q-Factor, reduce the BER, and improve the signal constellation pattern. Therefore, the optimized WDM Drop can be used as a simple and effective method to reduce the effect of DPF in WDM RoF systems.
