Desain Dan Analisis Station Charging Sepeda Motor Listrik Berbasis Plts
ABSTRACT
The increasing use of electric motorcycles has driven the need for renewable energy-based charging facilities. This study aims to design an off-grid solar power plant (PLTS)-based charging station at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Riau, with a capacity of 100 vehicles per day and to analyze its ability to meet charging energy demand. The research stages include calculating daily energy requirements, determining the capacity and configuration of solar panels, designing a buck converter, implementing a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm using the Perturb and Observe (P&O) method, determining energy storage battery capacity, selecting an EV charger, and developing a simulation model for system testing. Tests were conducted under variations in solar irradiance, panel temperature, battery State of Charge (SoC), and sunny and cloudy weather conditions using solar irradiance data from Pekanbaru City. The results show that increasing solar irradiance from 300 W/m² to 1000 W/m² increased the duty cycle from 0.43 to 0.84, while temperature variations from 25°C to 45°C had no significant effect on the duty cycle. In addition, increasing the battery SoC from 30% to 90% reduced the charging current from 529 A to 512 A. Based on a 10-hour observation period, the system produced 313.7 kWh/day under sunny conditions and 214.3 kWh/day under cloudy conditions. The system was able to meet the charging station energy demand of 259.2 kWh/day under sunny conditions but failed to meet it under cloudy conditions. Therefore, an energy storage system is required to ensure operational continuity. Validation results indicate that the developed model exhibits characteristics consistent with previous studies.
