Solar panels are one of the renewable energy technologies that convert solar radiation into electrical energy. However, the use of a fixed panel position causes solar radiation absorption to be non-optimal throughout the day. This study aims to analyze the efficiency and performance comparison between a dual-axis Solar Tracker system and a fixed photovoltaic system in a rooftop photovoltaic power plant. The dual-axis Solar Tracker was designed using LDR sensors, relays, and actuators to track the sun’s movement on two axes. Data were collected for seven consecutive days from 08:00 to 17:00 WIB. The measured parameters included solar irradiance, panel temperature, voltage, current, power, energy outpu, and efficiency. The results show that the dual-axis Solar Tracker system consistently produced higher electrical energy and efficiency than the fixed system. The highest energy generated by the dual-axis Solar Tracker reached 506.5 Wh, while the fixed system generated 415.3 Wh, resulting in an Energy Gain of 22%. The highest efficiency achieved by the dual-axis Solar Tracker was 18.46%, compared to 13.93% for the fixed system. These findings indicate that the implementation of a dual-axis Solar Tracker effectively increases solar radiation reception, leading to higher electrical energy production and improved photovoltaic system efficiency.
